I've just bought this little beauty, 2013 model so bargain at £800

Full SLX group apart from SRAM chainset, this will be upgraded as and when parets break. R/Shox Recon gold fork which is pretty good for the price point. I was considering a 2014 Charge cooker 4 but this being £600 less it was a no brainer really. Not had chance for a proper ride yet, that will come this weekend and I can't wait. First MTB since 1999, my legs are in a dire state but I'm doing 30 mins of spin bike a day at the gym to try and help

She's a beauty, and definitely worth it at that price!! I keep trying to justify a new bike by convincing myself it would get me back into MB'ing, this is just the sort of thing I don't need to see in the rather money lean months of January and February.

Let us know how it rides, at least you'll have plenty of mud to go out in.

Nice bike and a very decent deal.

IMHO contemporary mtbs are, when bought as a big-brand, 'built' bike like this (especially hardtails) exceptional value for money. I can well remember my early 90's Specialized Rockhopper being £750 back in the day.

A hardtail 29er is a fantastically capable bit of kit.
