Further update on servicing so far... looking at a minor oil leak so removed the sump - silicon gasket to be replaced with cork/cloth with silicon reinforcement - pleased as it's cleaned up nicely:

but found a hole in the bell-housing exposing the clutch:

I assume it should have a cover or blanking plate - can anyone advise?

Many thanks,

Jon.

Mines never had one, as far as I know.

Can be bought from here if you want one.

Mine has one on my T5 box. There for a purpose. Rusty outriggers are bad enough!

This is unreal. I had a look under mine yesterday while it was in for an MOT and just logged on here post the very same question!!!

Mine has a hole also.

Mine (T5) has a rubber / plastic black cover that pushes into place, held in by a lip on the cover. I'd be a bit concerned running with an exposed clutch !

I just contacted tvrpower.co.uk to get one of these, but they don't stock them any more and don't know who does - apparently it's the same bung as on the wheel arches of the T350 and in the boot of some other TVRs - does anyone know where to get one of these?

Thanks,

Jon.

Why bother?? It's been like that since it left the factory in 1995..... I've actually never seen one with the bung fitted, and I've been under plenty of TVR's in the pastsmile

We have seen several with a paint tin lid held in place with Sikaflex and assumed this had been done at the factory but could be wrong.

I bought one from race tech direct a couple of years ago but think they still sell them, to be honest it doesn't feel like a very good fit and thought it would have dropped out within a week but its still there!
