964 Coffee Break
Discussion
A place to discuss the new found love for one of Porsche's finest....the 964.
Anything goes....driving it, fixing and repairing, modifying, cleaning, tracking, photos, videos, values, etc, etc
Just say what you want about the 964, good, bad or ugly! Just don't get the thread locked
As far as pics go, here's a dirty, old one of mine to get us started:

Here's to the rising star of air cooled....the 964.

Can '64 turbos join in?
And some should make it clear, no 3.2's or 993's, no matter how good they are!
Ups ... no 993s? Oh go on, it will be a great read by page 3 ..... all those 993 vs 964 replies. Ok .... And some should make it clear, no 3.2's or 993's, no matter how good they are!

Two of them....that's just plain greedy!
I was fairly new to Porsche when I bought mine. Wanted a 993 at the time (in 2007) but luckily couldn't afford one so got a 964 instead.

Been hunting a low Km mint Tip Cab in Guards Red (Indisch Rot is the real Porsche color name) for years.... One day, one day, there will be 3

Nice idea for a thread!
I knew all along that the 964 was the one I wanted and it's nice to see them finally getting the attention they deserve.
I'm on my 2nd 964 now, having bought a 1990 C4 in 2001 and then swapped that for my current 1991 C2 Coupe in 2003. I paid £14K which seems an absolute bargain now given that I've had over 10 years use of it already! Easily the cheapest car I've ever owned!
I'm sure many of you have seen my car before, but here's a couple of photos anyway!!

Bought mine knowing it would need some attention, It's a C4 coupe currently has 138k miles. Many would not have bought it as it has stamps in the book up to 2002 thereafter the previous owner serviced the car himself but did keep paperwork for parts bought/used etc. it had a top end rebuild around the same time via a well known Indy. I bought it late 2012, last year and to date it's had:
Full service and leak down test.
Full suspension refresh including all bushes and geo
Discs and pads replaced including brake pipes and backing plates as required
Cup 1's fitted including new tyres
Windscreen replaced
Cup pipe fitted
Minor oil leaks rectified - surprisingly not one drop of oil to be seen (for now)
Won't list all the small items replaced
This year it's bodyshop time so god knows what I'll find when it's striped, more importantly I've been fortunate enough to own a few air-cooled, 3.2 coupe, 930 coupe, 993 C2S etc, all of which were pristine examples but this little 964 has got under my skin it's just a great car to drive. Must admit I'm OCD with my cars.

I think most of us 964 owners have come to terms that there are body rust issues now that they're getting older. So many people willing to spend big bucks on paint and restoration is a sure sign of how popular these cars are. I hope you're going to keep it white.
Still a great video that!
Damn it! Now I'm working my way through all the other 964 vids. I did that over Xmas and was ready to sell the GT3 in January.
I must stay off youtube.
Nice car Dozzer. I think most 964s have now fallen into the hands of people who enjoy bringing them back upto scratch. Always good to see.
Are you switching to cup mirrors or do you like the flags?

Indeed Boxsey....GP White

Almost every one I've seen needs some work to a degree even some I've seen in the higher price bracket. One guy I met last year paid 24k for his and was just about to set too changing most things (suspension etc) on my list of things done.

Thanks and no I'm keeping it mostly standard which makes it a little different when parked up with most others these days. Do appreciate the work, mods, some have done though the level of work is outstanding on most occasions. Are you switching to cup mirrors or do you like the flags?
