The cable will be retained either in P clips or just cable tied to the chassis all the way along its length. You will not be able to get at it unless you remove the side pods.
Better to leave it in place and run a new one or extend/shorten as required.
If fitting a new one don't skimp on the cable size. There will be significant volt drop from front to back if the cable is too thin.

Why not fit a junction box at the point where the old cable terminates (especially as all your other cables will terminate here too.
You then just add a short length of new cable to the repositioned battery.
I have one as I didn't like too many cables connecting to the battery.
