Hello,

Firstly I would like to point out that despite what I am about to tell you below do have a brain I just seem to have went into autopilot when the below occurred.

On Monday night whilst driving home from work my screen wash ran out and being only five minutes from home I thought I might as well fill it up when I got there, after looking in the garage I realised that I didn't actually have any screen wash left and with the cold weather forecasted thought It would be silly to fill it with water alone.

Not to worry as my wife was due to go to the supermarket so I could get her to pick me some up, when she returned home I filled the washer bottle with roughly 1 litre of “blue fluid” and topped the rest up with water, problem solved, or so I thought until driving to work in the morning I realised that my screen wash appeared to leave a greasy coating on the windscreen, on arriving home I checked the bottle to find out it was in fact antifreeze.

My question is should I be worried about my paintwork? Is it likely to cause any damage at this concentration?

I don’t know if I should dilute it more or use it as is to get rid of it, I thought about empting the tank on the way home and washing the car as soon as I get home but not sure what to do.

I would be grateful for any advice…..

You'll be fine. Empty, flush through with plenty of water and refill with proper screen-wash.

Could be worse, you could have put screen-wash in the coolant header smile

What car is it? Some cars have a very easily removable reservoir (although I imagine many more do not)

I know that the previous model Corsa had a very easily removable bottle, unclip the pump, lift it out and then empty the contents.....

I have no idea what the Corsa D is like though.

Pull the pipe off from the bottom of the jets so you can flush it straight into a container (to be safely disposed of yes).
At least it wasn't brake fluid.
As for having a brain, I'm not sure "seem to have went" is entirely accurate grammar tongue out

Hosepipe it, give everything under there a bit of a gentle wash at the same time.
