Snapped driveshaft sorted!
Discussion
Big thanks to the chaps on this forum - especially Dave (posts as plasticman) - who not only sorted me out with a super cheap driveshaft with CV joints but also gave me a ride in his Nitron'd 4.5. Top bloke!
Just got to get saving for those Nitrons now... and tuscan-style seats...
The actual driveshaft had snapped inside the outer CV joint and had cleanly sheared by the retaining circlip - so neatly you'd think it had been turned. Very easy job to sort, too.
Anyway thanks to Dave and everyone else who posted.

Yes very easy to do. In the end I fitted a complete new driveshaft with the CV joints and outer hub already attached - much easier than stripping them down as it's very difficult to get the CV joints off the shaft.
The only thing you have to do is unbolt the upper hub to wishbone nut and drop it forward.
