Evening guys, I'm Matt and I have just started looking for a Chim for a nice new toy. I hunted around for one for my girlfriend's Dad who has also just bought one just before Christmas and he ended up buying the rosso pearl 400 from Tony Gilbert's place - a really nice motor and this has made me want one even more now!
does anybody know this one, is it somebody from here? It just worried me a bit as it was advertised with a missfire, now the advert has been edited and that's been removed?

any help / advice much appreciated.

Looks an honest enough advert, maybe he's cured the mis-fire. You could always ask.
Though, I came from an Esprit turbo to a TVR wobble [great car though, and one I still wish I had]

It would be good if it is somebody from here, it would give me the confidence that's it's been looked after buy a fellow ph member. I will give it a call nearer the weekend and try and get to look at it on Saturday.
There is also this one I found that looks good.

Hi Matt - I have seen Wyn's Chim in the flesh and it is indeed a'a fine car'. I bought 8 Chims last year (I like to 'dabble') and I wouldn't hesitate from buying from this guy - he is a TVR nut and chooses and treats his cars with alot of care...

Regards, Paul.

Missfire thing was very odd, Hasn't occurred for a few weeks now since I tidy'd up the battery cubby hole. I reset the ecu, re-sat some of the relays etc. 8 out of 10 journeys it would be fine then sometimes it would lose a few cylinders for a mile or two, then gradually come back ok.

She really is a very nice example. Someone is going to get a very good buy. thumbup

Blimey, this forum gets results quickly! Hi there anyway to Wyn, your car really does look good mate, a real credit to you. So do you think this misfire issue was just down to a loose relay or something then?
Cheers for the responses.

Hi Matt, it's been great for the last few weeks since I had a rummage. Used it daily from February to Oct/Nov without a single issue.
I've ummed & arred about selling this car since last summer. Advertised it several times, but I drove a Lotus Esprit Turbo at the weekend & I'm smitten. Different beast altogether to any TVR, but it's my childhood dream car etc. So it's time to go & scratch that old itch. thumbup

In regards to the misfire, I think I had the same issue with mine, just came in randomly and lost most of the engine Power, not running on all cylinders and would either cure itself or be fine after restarting it once ir twice. Seems to have disappeared now after relocating the fuse board, battery and ecu. Whilst I did that I took off all the connections and sprayed with some electrical connector cleaner so I

Esprit turbo, lovely car and I loved mine. Was another sense of occasion to drive and always got positive comments. The only downside was the noise [4 pot] though the turbo waffling through the intake behind the driver side was cool. Make sure it's had a cam belt change, if not get one! My mate had one at the same time and it went pop, VERY expensive rebuild and wasn't quite the same afterwards. Love 'em. What colour?

Had a couple of these (Esprit). One was the dearer car with the charge-cooler, and the other one without. Very little difference in real world performance as the simpler car always ran right, whereas the charge-cooled one usually had one or two faults present.

Hi wyn, the pics look really good, I was really surprised (in a good way) to read you had used it as a daily for nearly a year, I was really under the impression that these things were really not good at all when exposed to rain and the elements, with leaks in the roofs and the obvious chassis / outrigger rot problems you always see and read about etc?
I will give you call soon to talk it through properly, manic with work this week, just trying to get as much info as poss as I'm in Northamptonshire you see, so bit of a trek, where exactly are you? Cheers.

IMO a car is BETTER if used everyday as long as its been well maintained. cars are not designed to be left standing. I had my misfiring issue after I left it over winter. aslong as the chassis is cleaned down when salty or is well protected it should be fine biggrin
