London Bike Show - Friday - What's worth seeing?

I'm heading there this Friday and wondered what's not to be missed... I'm into both road and mountain biking, but more specifically is there any guest speakers or workshops that are worth attending? I can't see a list on the website of names and times unfortunately - other than James Cracknell on Thursday which I'm gutted about missing!

So it was a bit weak imho...some beautiful bikes and the airbag jump was fun but not really that much there. Stand outs for me were;
Guy Martins silly Rourke beast, interesting to see in the flesh; some big cogs there
A Starley carbon roadie in Gulf colours that was lovely. A Ribble red\white steel frame was even nicer and the usual collection of weird bikes including a backward Penny Farthing, which they wouldn't let me ride and the DMR pump track which I wasn't allowed a go on either

Made sure I stocked up on a few bits like energy gels etc, which were a little cheaper, and got my free copy of Rouleur too. I'm hoping to do a cycling holiday next year so it was nice to see what's out there.
The 'first Ironman' presentation today was good, shame only a handful of people sat and listened.
Not sure it was worth the 4 hour each way drive though!

Generally Crap.
I went hoping to buy some MTB shoes. Not a single Shimano MTB shoe for me to try on and then buy. Its hardly an obscure brand is it!! I didn't think there was that much retail. WHat was there was small brands that I've never heard of.
One benefit of going was i got to look at the starley bikes stand. They looked great! I quite fancy one of their frames for a custom build
I then walked through to the dive show and that was much busier with a good mix of retail and exhibitors. Also they had a small dive clubs section, which worked really well. I helped out on my club stand for a while. The bike show needs to look at ideas like this and generally improve the show.
I came home and bought my MTB shoes from merlin cycles

Really disappointing. No stands from Wiggle, Evans, Halfords, Chain Reaction. You'd imagine that the biggest retailers would have a presence but nothing.
I wasn't sure what I wanted to by but was wallet heavy and product light. I'm considering the spin K2 wheels for my SLR but nothing else jumped out. The Triuk stand had some decent looking wheels but the staff had no interest in discussing them, or in the product it would seem.
I certainly wont go next year. Good to see the guys behind Comtat, but otherwise a very expensive non event.

Well, it nearly was, though was interesting to see the Penny-farthing - neat! As already said, not enough mainstream retailers on show.Simond S said:

Because they probably make more money by not going to the show and continuing their normal every day business. Wouldn't surprise me if the Bike show wants £22k for a 50m sq stand. .
I'd imagine planet x do quite well out of the show, but you won't save any money on the bike there.
