Anyone live in Gloucester?

The folk of Oxford are getting a referendum on the council's transport policy (usual anti-car stuff, MMC calls it Gatspoxfordshire for good reason) but, as the council guy said on Fox FM today, they'll take notice but won't necessarily do what comes up. Typical, hope Gloucester's better. They did the 'Safer City' project thing a few years ago so the poor ole place is chokker with speed bumps, chicanes, bus lanes, pretty coloured roads etc etc. Most local driving folk can't abide the place now, guess that's what they wanted

Don't go there anymore after the Poxup Transport Strategy was slapped on, effectively busising the city (busising is like pedestrianising, but pollutes on a grand scale with buses the size of houses running everything else off the road).
Car drivers aren't welcome in Poxford, so presumably their money isn't either. That's why I do most of my shopping in civilised West Oxfordshire where you can park for free in the car parks - not in Poxford where you need a second mortgage, the reactions of a superhero (to avoid the tickets) and the eyes of the Bionic Man to spot one of the few parking spaces. Always a lot of free spaces in front of county hall though...

My knowledge of Geography is a bit crap but I do believe I live in South Gloucestershire (at least I think thats what it says on the council tax demand)
Here in North Bristol we've got more speed bumps than lamp posts and I'm sick to the back teeth of them.
'Course thats what you get with a lib dim council...
Unfortunatley its a safe seat so I don't think we'll be seeing the back of them (the council or the speedbumps) anytime soon.
