Sunday morning drive in Surrey - map included
Discussion
Proposing to have a Sunday morning drive with some like minded people on a Sunday. I've had a route suggested, and reading some threads on here have come up with this map.

Does this look interesting? Plan is to get on the road a little before day break and then be back for lunch.
Any way to reduce the driving time but maybe improve the roads?
Any other suggestions on where to go?

Thanks again Okgo.
I've amended my route, so we do the part that touches that section first and we'll be long gone by 9am! For the benefit of anyone who might come to this thread, I have attached a revised map and will try to comment on it at some point.
Pity that no-one else had anything to contribute, but I guess being so close to London, roads are unlikely to be much good at all. Still, always good to blow some cobwebs away.

always hard to comment on a route, because everyone has subtly different ideas as to what type of roads they prefer / suit the car.....
when we do run outs we tend to use more smaller roads, ones like the 272 for example are just too tempting and as much fun in our little cars can be had on the smaller twisties...
have done a load of runs around most of the area you outlined....although my own pref is to use as many that are just south/north of the 272....sometimes its worth just putting up with the pain of a boring bit of road like the a24 for 30 mins to get somewhere that's really worth starting from - rather than trying to find something on the doorstep....
there's a fair few run outs here http://southernkitcars.com/routesand-cafes/ all are in ITN format for tomtom, so if you don't use TYRE - trace your route everywhere you'd need to download a free version to be able to view.....there's also a link to some of the Cafes that we like to use/recommend...anyone is welcome to download/use/adapt....

Greengreenwood, thank you. That's very helpful. I will pour over your maps and links soon!
Our group's cars are wider, i.e. Ferrari 360, Porsche 911, Aston Vantage etc.
Could I trouble you to tell me which of the route on your site are of the "wider" variety?
I ask because I did my loop yesterday, and other than the A272 it's all narrow for the cars we were in. Plus, the road surface did leave a little to be desired given all the bad weather.
Oh and any routes in Essex, Bucks or Herts? Or Cambridgeshire even? We're a North London bunch!

sorry off the top of my head can't even recall which routes we put up there for public use!
but for example, south of where you travelled roads like the a285 are worth a look....
can't help with north of london as we're primarily based in the South East...we have done a few runs in essex, have a look at the roads from great dunmow up towards finchinfield and then up towards Bury or Newmarket - there's some corkers up there.....
