Hi all, not been on here for many moons as i am akit car fan now, not that it should be a reason not to come on hey. I got myself a W reg 2000 Ford puma 1.7i as MOT fialure, well the clutch is very high and slips in all gears, ( could drive it when i looked at it had no brakes, ( but nothing said about a bad clutch ) but i read that you need to keep the brake res topped up when doing a clutch when bleeding it, i take it that the clutch and brakes use the same res.

So this has got me thinking, the rear O/S brake line to the wheel had corroded and was leaking bad, well the MOT chap made it leak so it sprayed out, brakes were fine before. The brake res was 1/4 full so i topped it up and fixed the brakes, now will that of got air in the clutch there for making it slip.

Just trying to get out of doing the clutch lol

easy job but for the saving of £80

wolly

You are correct they both use the same redo our but air in the system would only cause difficulty selecting gears not slipping
