My chimaera had developed a wobble which I can feel through the steering wheel at about 70mph, and gets worse as the speed climbs (although not on public roads !). I thought it might be that I had lost a balance weight and so got the balance checked - about 5g out on one of the fronts - not enough to make a wobble, and the wheel is not buckled.

I have jacked the car up and given the wheels a good shake and there is no play in the bearings and the steering rack seems tight.

Any ideas of where to look next - I suspect the suspension bushes could be a target but don't know what to look for.

A good balancing and tracking will probably sort it out!!, It is surprising what a little weight does to the wheels!! and if the tracking is out, very easy to do kerbs etc... it can make no end of difference, I have had a few cars do it to me at about 70 - 80 mph. Get it done at a recognised place with good equipment, jeff fowkes is brilliant if you are in the midlands and it will hopefully fix it.
