Not just while I'm working out I'm talking all the time.

I've keep getting a red face. If I've not been to the gym or running for a while I don't seem to get it. The more I workout the worse it gets. My forehead seems to get dry skin to again getting worse the more I do.

Sometimes get people asking if I've been on a sunbead lol I've tried putting different moisturisers etc but they don't seem to do anything.

The only thing I can think that's causing it is due to sweat. Any ideas off lot ?

Could be all sorts, from rosacea to hives. I've got an idea - there's these guys nowadays who specialise in this sort of thing. The amazing bit is they're free. You just rock up and they sort you out. For free! They call them Doctors. wink

Downfall is I don't fancy waiting until 2016 for a appointment.

So what else are you going to do, FFS? Wait for some bloke on the internet to 'diagnose' your problem, then what? Oh yes. Go and see the doctor you should have seen in the first place.

I suppose if you really insist you could go into a chemist, ask to see the pharmacist, show him/her the problem and ask her what over the counter medicine might help. No waiting involved.

Wrong; Downfall is a film about the last days of Adolf Hitler... wink

Back on topic though, a quick bit of Google-Fu points to flushing. Apparently quite common and it varies from person to person. The general suggestion appears to be to keep yourself hydrated as flushing is your bodies way of trying to cool itself. Sipping water during exercise gives your body something to sweat, helping to cool the skin.

So nothing to worry about, although if you start getting cramps or feeling sick then it's best to see a doctor as this can be heat stress.

Everybody is different; for instance I tend to sweat a reasonable amount when exercising. I'm naturally one of those 'warm' people anyway, so when I start to exercise I tend to get hot very quickly. Different strokes for different folks.

I get a very red face when exercising, most attractive!

Not wanting to worry you but having red face all the time can indicate high blood pressure (I'm not a Doc, just what I have been told), so I would get that checked out. My surgery has a blood pressure test machine in reception so you can pop in and do it yourself. No long wait for appointments. Maybe a surgery near you has one?

When you work out regularly, you "run" hotter. It's something I've noticed, anyway. And the way your body regulates heat involves sending a lot of blood to your head. Not much you can do. Headectomy?

This topic came up not so long ago on a radio program I was listening too with people phoning in saying they suffered with the same problem as you - reddening or blushing. There was a myriad of causes from spicy foods, alcohol, right through to going from one extreme temperature zone (i.e. a hot room) to outdoors then back again - this can really play havoc with the blood vessels under the skin thus causing the reddening. Also a lot of people complain that it was a vicious circle in so much that they were conscious of people staring at their face making them go even redder!

I've heard that there's a procedure involving the removal of a gland in the armpit resulting in almost a total cure for the condition.

p.s. I'm no doctor!

Go and see the doctor and you can ask for a dermo appointment. The doctor will likely be able to diagnose but it might not be correct. A doctor diagnosed me with acne rosacea a few years ago,he was wrong. A dermo diagnosed it as very mild stage 1-2 rosacea or due to semi permanent redness Erythema.

I'll be honest absolutely nothing the doctor or dermo prescribed has been effective. The only treatment that was effective for me was Ipl treatment. I found a clinic close to me that charges £158 per session. I've had 8 treatments and redness has pretty much all gone, I had some underlying thread veins branching out too which didn't help the redness any.
I also used some bioglycolic face wash for a few months alongside the Ipl.
Ipl takes a while to settle down and see results,it won't be immediate.

I don't have the Ipl anymore, and I will only wash with dove sensitive and use a non alcohol and Paraben free moisturiser. I also use a Paraben free sunscreen with titanium oxide in it upto factor 30 for everyday use.
You will find that if you do have some form of rosacea that sunscreen is important for everyday use and not just because it's sunny.
