Rally experience days

Can anyone recommend a decent rally experience day, am looking to book something as a present but don't want it to end up being hours of theory and only 10 minutes of driving.

Don't mind travelling a bit but needs to be in a reasonable distance from Surrey.

That's the problem - the best ones are in the woods not on airfields and that means Wales.

Have a look for the Higgins Rally School - both are ex British champions and it has a very good reputation.

If you don't want to travel then David Taunt at Silverstone is good as well.

I've done a Bill Gwynne day near Brackley. It is an airfield jobbie but was good fun.

I've used Subaru Rally Experience a couple of times and it was really good value, last time I it was part of my stag-do, a great day out.
Plus you get plenty of time in the cars and a timed run at the end.
They run events close to surrey - they are using some of the stages from The Tempest rally located near Aldershot they also run days at Castle Combe.

The next one is Sat 22nd Feb (I was supposed to be going but now have to take clients to Twickenham so will miss out).

Their cars are Impreza's but they have converted them to rear wheel drive to make them behave like a mk2 escort - ie lots of sideways fun!

If you like the look of it you might get a deal for next saturday's afternoon session - as a couple of us have dropped out (its worth asking if they might do it for £130 last minute deal!).

Look no further than Phil Price Rally School!

Whole day, get to drive mk2 escorts on the practice track and an Impreza on a proper welsh gravel stage (that is used by various top crews for testing).

Everyone's friendly, you get a decent lunch and Phil knows his stuff.

ive done the Phill Price Rally School, and its epic. . .lots of time in the cars, and just as you think you have the hang of it they send round the water bowser to soak the course and reverse the direction of the practice runs too.
The special stage was great fun too. . . .a fair drive from Surrey, but well worth the journey, do dress warmly though if your going any time soon, it gets pretty parky up there
