TV, Film & Radio - When will my ban be lifted?
Discussion
Hi,
I got banned from the "TV, Film & Radio" section for 7 days for posting the link to log out of PH on the "Top Gear Series 21" topic (apologies for anyone who was upset by this attempt at humour) - the ban was for 7 days and I was notified at 14:24 on the 7th.
Can you advise when the ban might be lifted so that I can restore a gap in my sorry little life and talk about such things (without "witty" links) again please? I seem to be able to post in the section but not on the Top Gear topic, is that ban permanent?
Thanks in advance and once again I'm sorry for the potential upset caused with the log out link in response to people who were fed up of reading the same thing over and over.
PS: The second episode was much better than the first.
If anyone sees this message could you do me a favour and reply in the TG thread with something alone the lines of "a generally enjoyable episode on the whole but the one thing that annoyed me more than anything was the tilted camera angles in the 6x6 segment to make all the hills look steeper"
I've never liked Jack Whitehall but I am aware of him.

Sorry you're still banned from that thread.
I know that much, it tells me if I try to reply to it. The question I have is if I should still be banned or it the ban still in place due to technical reasons? Is the ban permanent or was it just for 7 days as the original notification indicated?

I'd assume from the "Sorry, you're still banned" comment, that you are, in fact, still banned. Is the ban permanent or was it just for 7 days as the original notification indicated?
I doubt Switch would comment just to inform you that he can see you're still banned. Rather his comment implies that you are still subject to a ban from the TG thread until further notice.

A 7 day ban should mean just that, a 7 day ban.
I'll alert the techies and get you reinstated ASAP.

He was banned from TV F&R for 7 days and from that thread for good as far as far as I can see.
Oh, OK - that wasn't the impression I got from the communication I received, this is why I'm confused.PH Email 07/02/2014 14:22 said:

Hi,
Your reply to the topic 'Top Gear Series 21' has been removed for the following reason:
This is not a link we wish for on the forums, it just winds up members and wastes time.

The 7 day ban from the section in question rather than just the topic itself seemed a little odd to begin with but as I had been naughty I saw no reason to query this and accepted the punishment. It's just that this now seems to have evolved into something else. Your reply to the topic 'Top Gear Series 21' has been removed for the following reason:

I'm all for following the rules (those I know about at least) and am happy to accept any punishment due to me, I just hoped it might be communicated in a clear way and reflect what's being said.
I think removing the "naughty" logout link and telling me off would have been sufficient to be honest but I'm not here to discuss this, just the application of the sentence imposed on me and that I seem to be serving unexpected extra time now.
I was banned from TV, Film & Radio for 7 days, as the TG thread was in there this meant I was banned from that too. At no point did anyone mention a permanent ban from anything.
And that's why I keep wittering on about this, not to be difficult, just to understand.
