Question for you Tungsten Silver owners...

I have more or less settled on this colour for a V8VS (very close second is Lightning Silver). Trouble is I have only seen the colour inside at the factory and in pictures.

My questions are are you existing owners still very happy with your choice? Any other colours you have seen which have turned your head in terms of how well the car looks? Is it easy to maintain? Is there much interest in it (in terms of any flake or flip or other shades in it in different lights - it can look a bit flat in some pictures.

Finally, any Tungsten or other silver owners WITHOUT the Bright Finish Grille? I am thinking the standard grille might look better with these colours but every picture I see looks like a bright grille.

Thanks!

I'm really happy with mine. When the light hits it, sunlight or artificial, it really pops. I have zero regrets and would choose it again.
It hides dirt quite well and chips are a lot harder to find than my old Mercury silver V8 or our Onyx DB9.

The pics below are of the same car. Sometimes the camera doesn't do it justice. Its loaded with flake and different colours.
Click on the wheel arch one, then click on it again to go full size.

I love mine to bits, and have no regrets at all. It really does morph in differing lights, which I really like and a already stated, it hides the dirt very well.

That said, I think my next one, should it ever appear, will be more adventurous. A volcano/magma red or even a Madagascar Orange!!

My first Aston was a choice of meteorite and tungsten and I went for meteorite but always felt that I had wished I had gone for tungsten. Three cars later ended up with the colour I should have gone for initially and absolutely love how it seems to change colour with different lights. Mine has a bitter chocolate interior which again helps accentuate the brown fleck in the paint.

Yes there are other colours that I have seen but none would make me want to change my mind - for me the perfect choice.

I've no regrets what so ever, I absolutely love the colour and the way it constantly changes with different lighting conditions.
Sometimes a dark sultry grey, sometime a bright silver and sometimes a shimmering bronze.

I also love any excuses to post a picture of her.

I've had both
When I was specing my new car I went with Lightening Silver with a std (dark grey) grill for the contrast
It just has another dimension over Tungsten
Morning Frost was a close second but a PITA to keep clean on the miles I do on Eurohoons

Colour is a very personal thing, but in my opinion lightening silver is a much more striking colour, excuse the pun. You really should see both outside, before making your final choice.

Should have also said that hides the dirt pretty well and I went for the standard grill

I pick my V8S up on March 1st. Tungsten, bright grille, strakes, exhaust, black grilles, graphite V spoke wheels, but with black interior. I went through all the available colours and felt Tungsten was the best. Only other option for me would have been the Ferrari Grigio Titanio. Will post pics on here early March. I have a couple I could email you if you PM me. Currently traveling so can't load onto the interweb.

This forum really is great, I was not sure I would get a single reply. Thanks all

I know I cannot really go wrong with either (or any) colour but nothing like real world experiences.

For sure I need to see both outside but that is easier said than done!

I am thinking Iron Ore interior with either colour (I do like the Bitter Chocolate and Deep Purple but not enough to warrant the extra expense). That is also one advantage of Tungsten since it is a NCO but I would not let that be a deciding factor.

I love some of the brighter colours such as Madagascar Orange but this is a daily driver and I want to blend in.

Seriously don't just tick the NCO or fast track options
It is a once in a life time experience specing and ordering a brand new Aston
Make the most of it and enjoy it
If there is an option you really like go for it

Worry not I am with you all the way on this but I really could not pick between the interior colours and Iron Ore was the only one I had seen in the flesh. Pics of the Bitter Chocolate will be interesting. Deep Purple I thought might be a bit much in monotone (as I plan). Lord's Red I also liked but was so close to Iron Ore as to not make enough difference.

Exterior Colour the same. Honestly when messing with the samples at the factory I did not even look at what the colours were called and I narrowed it (eventually) to Lightning and Tungsten (loved plenty of others but not for a daily driver and not with a NON-BLACK (but most likely dark red or dark brown) interior. Before I went to the factory I was adamant that neither interior or exterior would be fast track!

Plus if I go with Tungsten it looks like I will have to cough up for the bloody graphite wheels so it is not about saving money at that point!

I will also be requesting RED rear lamps by the way

Looking at the Tungsten examples on this forum and in the flesh, you are choosing a great colour, there seems to be a lot going on with the colour. I bought lightning silver and clear lights - love it and visually it has something special in whatever light, cloud, rain, sun and also at night under street lights.
You mention that yours will be a daily driver and hence needs to be toned down as such. I would only urge you to go for what you really really want.
So what colour would you choose if it weren't a DD?

My last car was tungsten and I liked it. But I could never get a good shine on it, but then again, it was made of plastic !

Is there something special about petrol station lights? After I fill her up and look at the car whilst queing up waiting to pay the car looks stupidly amazing. My first choice was meteorite but the tungsten was the better car so I went for second choice. A friend had a silver V8V which I thought looked great as well, but I think it's one of those things where you take for granted what you have and always want something you don't have. I'm very happy with my one.
