DSLR spec creep

I have been thinking about buying a DSLR for a while now. The only thing that's been putting me off is spec creep, I have had a good play with the main contenders and I think that I would like a Canon however I keep uping the budget and getting to the 6D with a24-105mm Lens to get going.

So if I was going for a second had camera and a lenses that will migrate well or I can sell on with little loss when I upgrade if I end up getting involved in this as a hobby what would people recommend?

Lenses generally hold their value better than bodies, which depreciate over time like a car. Buying s/h is a good way to get more bang for your bucks - indeed if buying a lens s/h you could get all your money back.

Buying second hand is a good idea especially if it's your first DSLR and not exactly sure what you want. Camera bodies definitely depreciate but good lenses will always have value and even goes up in some cases.

Just buy the 6d and 24-105.
