Max Mileage for 1200 mile service?

Hi guys,

Just a quick Q, I'm at almost 1500 miles and my service isn't until Wednesday.

Having told myself I wouldn't use it this weekend, now the sun's come out I'm finding it difficult to resist!

So what's the max Mileage you can do before the warranty disappears?

The service guy suggested 1500 miles but what's the gospel according to BMW?

For an M5 if it matters.

When I was looking at Z4Ms I was looking (rightly or wrongly) for a car that had its first oil service spot on 1200 miles as that's the wisdom of what the net was telling me. Anything away from this I just discounted! Stupid it may seem but there were plenty of fish in the sea.

At what mileage did the service indicator tell you that the service was due?

Unless u believe the mongs on m3 cutters that is fine to miss a running in service

There is a tolerance +/- 1200 miles that is within BMW recommendations

Not sure what that is though

My old e46 m3 convertible was done at 1900 and i believe BMW were fine with that though i bought it second hand and never required any further warranty work. I had no problem selling it on either.

I'm sure I was told no more than 1500 miles. As I didn't want to effect the future residual value of my pch m5

I was advised 1400 miles MAX, some say it does not matter, BUT BMW are the one's warranting your car, Give them a ring NOW.

Yeah I didn't bother in the end, the guy on the phone told me 1500 so I'll stick to that, roll on Wednesday!
