R107 headlights

Hi everyone,
76 R107 450SLC american version. Is it easy to replace the front headlights by the European square-designed lights? (wiring, plugins... and is it necessary to also replace the bumper in such case?).

I don't believe the US lights are anything other than a couple of round lights housed in exactly the same 'box' as the Euro ones. Not sure about the wiring, but the units should be a straight swap out with no need to change the bumper.

This looks logic.
I saw some photos on the web showing the american bumper model with the euro front lights.
But i am afraid it may get complicated as i heard they have different plugs/sockets and commands from the dashboard are affected.
