Congestion Zone penalty.

Hi, has anyone, or has anyone heard of someone successfully appealing against a Congestion Zone penalty? A week last Thursday I drove into 'the zone' and my passenger registered us as entering and paid the fee. We stayed at a hotel in central London and the following morning I drove home to Leicestershire. On this Saturday I received a Congestion zone penalty notice. I recall that after leaving the hotel, I was following my TomTom's directions, and a missed a turning, Tom recalculated the route and I continued to follow it. I think that I may have exited the zone briefly and then re entered it before leaving it finally. Do I have any hope of making a successful appeal? I feel that the odds are against me but you never know.

Congestion Charge doesn't apply on a Saturday.

Did your colleague get the registration right? Have you/he got the receipt for the payment?

Second penalty was for Friday..
It needs to be paid every day you enter or are in zone

According to TFL the Hours of operation are: 07:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday.
So if you drove in on Thursday, did you pay the charge for exiting on Friday? Unless you drove outside of above hours.

The charge is PER DAY

You guys paid for Thursday. But not Friday (by the sound of it)

If the car was in an off-road car park all day, without moving, then it wouldn't be payable.

He didn't drive on a Saturday. He drove on a Friday and received the ticket the following Saturday.

Your ticket was for the Friday.

he stayed overnight Thursday eve to Friday Morning. He then drove home on the roads FRIDAY

No, we paid for the day we entered the zone. You don't have to pay when you leave. It would be possible to pay on the way in, stay parked, or driving around, for 'ever' then leave, no charge to pay.
My question was, has anyone been able to challenge a minor incursion into, then out of the zone????

You have to pay if you drive within the congestion zone. Where does it say you don't pay if you are driving with the intent of leaving the zone?

When to pay

You only need to pay once, no matter how many times you drive in and out of the charging zone on the same day.

You have to pay for every day you travel within the zone. It has nothing to do with not leaving it. Pretty much everything you've written above is completely wrong.

I miss timed leaving a hotel car park by 10 minutes once and got caught 2 minutes before the end of the time. I just paid the penalty...

You pay for each chargeable day you drive in the zone, from what you posted you drove in the zone on 2 days but paid for 1
