Well Done BMW

Pass a BMW dealership among many others every day on way to work. My observation? With the 4 door Six Series and the 5 door Five Series GT BMW have managed to produce both the prettiest , most desirable car as well as the ugliest in the medium to large executive sector. Like the title says, "well done".

Disagree - it usually takes me a while to come round to their styling but I tend to grow to like them (GT excluded).

Well that's just my personal opinion, but I do believe pretty much everything made by BMW is ugly. Jaguar and Mercedes make good looking cars. BMW just happen to make them look ugly

All modern BMWs are insanely ugly. Last one I admired was the E46. It was a long time ago.
Maserati can still produce a decently proportioned car but not BMW.

^^front half rather nice, gets a bit ugly and less sleek at the arse end though.

of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I am warming to the 5 GT.

I agree, they're performance you can't argue with, but the looks are hideous.

4 door 6 series is handsome. That 5 series GT is actually laughably horrible.

I have a very wild theory that looks are subjective. I find most modern BMWs beautifull, and particularly the M135i, which I'll probably buy in a couple of years. I appreciate I am in a minority of 1 though, like I seem to be in a minority of 1 for whom the driving experience is far more important anyway. Quite bizarre for such a site that is supposed to be for enthusiasts but I think people love slagging off cars they don't own, or need a good excuse not to own them.

It's not the worst looking BMW (the 1-Series and the 3, 5 and 6-Series GTs are the ugliest IMO), but it's a bit lardy looking and the front spoiler is a disaster. Mind you, it's difficult to make a large executive car look really good I think, most are pretty flabby looking.

I like the new 5 series.


The new S Class and E Class though... When I'm walking to work in London each morning there's usually an AMG version of one of those passing by. The combination of grill/looks and noise, perfect.

Hmm, to my eye that's the worst possible example. The E92 is possibly the ugliest car of that entire generation of BMWs - the proportions and the details are both awful.
