Bmw 325i or civic type r. HELP

Right, before i start id just like to mention that i am no car 'boffin' and i like to pic my cars basically on looks
Before performance, because after all there are only so many speeding fines one can take. Right, i currently
Own. Bmw 325i se coupe, i like the car, it looks nice and drives equally as nice. I would prefer the msport but
It was out of my price range! Ive owned it for 8 month and been getting abit bored lately, i am thinking of getting
A a 08 plate honda civic type r gt in milano red. my bmw has cloth interior, its not an msport and no sat nav, but its an bmw
At the end of the day and looks pretty good in my opinion. The type r has bucket seats, sat nav and every optional
Extra going. Im in two minds what to do, i realise they are two totally different types of car but i dont want to be seen
As 'downgrading' so to speak. Im aware its down to personal preference and i just keep thinking to myself 'why not
Do it if its what i want, at the end of the day its only a car'. Any usefull opinions?

If you just pick a car on looks, why bother weighing up any of the features of them? Just pick that one that looks the nicest, or you think that other people will think looks the nicest and makes you look cooler to others.

An FN2 Type R really isnt a car for someone who buys a car mainly for its looks. Its a drivers car, you'll hate it!

You won't go far wrong with either. They are both good cars.
I'd have the Civic as I have never really wanted a BMW nor had a desire to black out the windows and fit a big stereo
Having owned a CTR, it did everything I wanted it to and was fun and I also prefer a hatch to a boot.

What does that matter?

Its about what suits you.

Take an extended test drive in the civic - it is very much of the "hot hatch" ilk and a drivers car - ie, it has firm suspension, sports seats, and needs to be revved to make decent progress. This may not suit you or your particular driving style.

If you want a personal opinion then mine is that for that sort of money there are loads of better cars out there then either of those.

My personal opinion....the Civic looks good on the outside and great on the inside. 8 years since they were released and it's not dated even slightly.
Based entirely on looks then I think the Civic will become less boring and they are very well equipped. It is a great car to drive as well so even though that's not your priority it's not a bad thing

If you're going for just looks and high spec, surely the BMW badge is what you want? Why not just upgrade to a well specced 320i m sport coupe?

I would really love too, but they just are not in my price range, i have a £8000 budget
