Search the forum dude there's a few who have done it.

I think its generally accepted that you should cane the bejeesus out of their cars at every opportunity!

Enjoy, if its wet you should have a good craic.

f**k me, f**k me, f***k me, that was the most fun i have ever had in a car - including that other fun thing you can do in a car (but maybe not in a lotus unless she's a gymnast/contortionist).

If you own an Elise and you havent done the lotus driver training course, for f**k's sake phone them at 9am on Monday and book yourself in.

I'm not a big fan of those stupid smiley face things, in fact i hate them and i think they were designed for teenage girls, but if i was a fan, i'd fill the screen with the most smiley one i could find. My cheeks hurt from smiling too much, and i'm not normally that easily impressed.

I guarantee that if you have not done this course and you arent a good enough racing driver to be paid to do it, you really dont appreciate quite what your car can do.

Fair point, maybe I got a little carried away. I'm just frustrated really because i dont know how to make them work in my posts.

Anyway - Lotus Driver Training - words of the non-expletive kind to describe quite how good this was escape me - it was truly stunning and Hyla Breese's driving made me realise that i need to stick to the day job...

So, did you enjoy it then?
Seriously though, sounds great - how much?

Four hundred and four smackers. But it's much better than a fortnight in tenerife. I promise.

Several lotus driving days all seem to be called the same thing. Which one did you do? I did one at Thruxton but wasn't overly impressed. However, given your comments sounds like I ought to do the one you did - can you give me the website deails?

I would do a First Lotus day and save yourself a few hundred quid.

I did the official one at the factory. Its a great little circuit too, plays on the car's strengths on the twisty bits, and a couple of long straights for some high speed braking. The instructors are a mix of lotus test guys like alistair mcqueen and gavan kershaw, and pukka racing drivers like Hyla Breese. I can't imagine how the day could've been any better. Maybe a bit warmer weather, but then getting the car sideways at 110mph on ice is something not to be forgotten!

You had an Elise, sideways, at 110mph, on ice, and a) you held it b) it's in one piece and c) you're alive? You're either Schueys nemesis or you're exaggerating!

Not picking on you BTW

God no! HE had it sideways at 110mph on ice and got it back and kept it in one piece. He being my instructor, Mr Breese of BTCC fame. I wouldn't have had time to wonder what was happening before i went backwards through a hedge. I thought he hadn't meant to do it either, until he did it again on the next two laps! Mental. I didnt know whether to laugh or cry...

If you join Lotus Club international you get a 10% discount on driver training days at Hethel. You get other discounts too off AA membership, insurance etc.
Seeing as membership only costs 30-ish quid, it's worth joining if you're definitely signing up for the driver training.
