Hi all,

I am looking for a definitive answer on the above. I have read lots of information that contradicts other information and lots of information that says 'I think...' etc.

Does anyone know for sure what type of LSD Caterham fit to the current Supersport R?
Have they ever fitted different types to the current (2.0 Duratec) Supersport R?

Cheers!

I wondered this myself when I put mine together. Nobody seemed
To know. I did find this rather informative post though about the main types that are fitted to the Caterham:

http://www.mycaterham.com/66828/117416.html

Having taken a picture of the diff before fitting it, it matches up perfectly
With the 'ZF' diff type. Happy to upload photo should you want it?

The only thing is though, isn't it a BMW diff they fit now? Is the LSD therefore a BMW one too?

Sorry, not the definitive answer you were after i know.

What have you heard so far?

Surely Caterham can tell you ! or perhaps they don't know what they fit!

I remember talking to the servicing chap at the Caterham showroom, and he told me they were fitting Titan LSDs to the BMW diffs at that time (2011)

The Titan is a plate LSD and needs to be set up for such a light car.

@one eyed mick - you would think so, wouldn't you?

I have paraphrased a bit, but this is almost exactly how the conversation went.

Me - I would like to know what type of LSD is fitted to the current Supersport R cars.
Caterham - For a car you own, or one you intend to buy?
Me - It's not for a car I own and not for a car I intend to buy (at the moment). Just a general inquiry.
Caterham - it's a 3.99
Me - I don't need to know the ratio. I would like to know the type (IE make/model)
Caterham - "This is proprietary information that cannot be disclosed."

No, I am not joking. I have the emails to prove it.

Although not a Duratec mine had a BMW diff retro fitted and I believe it is a Titan LSD with CF plates, confirmed when I rang Titan regarding the preload.

Why don't you call the parts department and find out more about this...

Are you thinking of putting one in the R300?
