I would welcome peoples on the Bose Cinemate GS and are there any good alternatives anyone can recommend?

I have just bought a Samsung 40" 7000 Range TV and would like a system that offers a decent sound for everyday TV and Movies/ Music etc. I already have a Blu-ray player that is approx 3 years old. Thanks.

I can't comment on the Cinemate GS, however, I did audition the CineMate 1 SR when it was fairly new. The sound was "ok" but for the money not that impressive and you had to spend more to get the box that gave flexibility on connections (this may have changed now though as it was 2-3yrs ago)

In the end we bought a Yamaha YSP-2200 to go with out Samsung TV.

We have been very impressed for tv and dvd/blu-ray (I have a separate hifi for 2 channel stuff) so it is well worth auditioning the yamaha offerings. I had considered, but didn't feel the need to audition the B&W Panorama as cost was 2x the yamaha and i was happy with the yamaha's performance/size etc
