I've spotted a private seller at I like the look of
No email option and the contact number is incorrect as doesn't dial through!

Have emailed enquiries@autotrader.co.uk
Hoping they can inform the seller or/& pass on my contact details

It's a mobile number and not a telesafe one

Anyone else experienced this?

Also a mate just sold his car on autotrader, didn't realise how pricey it is to place an advert with them these days are.

Yes - same thing with AutoTrader couple of years back. The seller's contact number in the ad was wrong, I phoned AT to explain, - they did a bit of checking and gave me the right number over the phone. They also apologised for their printing error. smile

Autotrader doesnt give a st, same as ebay. Do a search and then lookm at the mileage, its as the crow flies...direct. I was looking for something and went by distance. A shedload of possibilties came up but they were in SW Wales and put the mileage as like 75.....from Cornwall!! I pointed out this error....have they changed anything.......

Nearly every site in existence uses the same mileage search method, did you really think they plotted the exact route?

Ha, just had this problem myself. AT said car was 49 miles away, great I can pop there in an hour. Plan route, 65 miles down country lanes, feck.

You are citing Google Maps as an example?

A more relevant one would have been Ebay, Rightmove, Zoopla or indeed the very site you are on right now

Half a day down and no email reply from autotrader to acknowledge the issue

Pretty poor service for the sellers who pay so much!

Have you tried tweeting them? I am led to believe its a good way of getting hold of faceless corps these days

How frustrating

No reply from autotrader and no changes to the advert contact details

Seen a car I like which looks genuine but can't get hold of seller... Argh!??!

Just got an incorrect phone number and no email address on an ad - exact spec car I was looking for!

Did anyone manage to find a way around it? No reply from AutoTrader...
