All depends on what its been used for , - eg a motorway car or a pursuit car will have monster miles on, but well maintained but more than likely a few replacement panels on it.
Normally plod beat car will be well maintained but will have been thrashed by pretty much all drivers, and be prepared for bits of dash missing, extra wiring here there and everywhere and bit missing from the grill. Dont be surprised by uprated alternators etc

I did find the short thread but I'll have a read of the others.
It's a 3 series estate but only has low miles, I'm not sure what it was used For. I would have thought a motorway car would have huge miles?
If ex police cars were a good buy every Nick car park would be full of them being coppers personal cars... I can guarantee they are not!
If it is low miles I would especially careful, they (in my experience) run every car to well over 100k unless it is smashed up beyond repair, and you would be amazed at some of the stuff they repair!!
My advise.... Not even with the longest barge pole in the world!

Do you happen to know which force it was used by? Lower miles might indicate an unmarked car used by CID or similar. My experience of ex-police cars is that although they've been used as a tool, they normally have been maintained to a high standard. I did find the short thread but I'll have a read of the others.

Some V70's, not sure what years of manufacturer, were supplied with a built in 155mph limiter, they probably wouldn't do it as stock though, lol, but it was written into the software, same on some older S70's. 
I know that, I was asking in response to a poster who said his uncle was "doing like 130 when he though he was doing 90" so it must have been a different "limiter"

He kept it clean and it flew down to road. No idea on the engine but i'm sure someone will know.
He got it cheap, ran it for 4 years and sold it on. Had no real issues with it either.
Some car's will get the hell kicked out them, other's wont. Do you feel lucky?
