Current DVLA transfer times through dealer

Anyone know how long a reg transfer is likely to take at the moment through a main dealer? Plate going from trade in onto approved used. I've not bought a car through a dealer since the DVLA closed all the offices. How long is this likely to take for the dealer to do by post?

We have stopped doing transfers alltogether as the last one we done took 6 weeks to return to us. So instead now we are ONLY doing retentions so cusutomer can get the new car away swiftly. Then in about 3 weeks can put the plate on the new car anyway. If it hasn't been set in stone yet I would advise you do this and just pay the extra £25 so you're not waiting on the lovely bunch at the DVLA to sort it for you.

How long is a piece of string? We've had one turned round in 2-3 weeks, and one that's 10 weeks and still counting

Cheers guys that's really good advice. I guess then there's no delay in getting the new car. The only delay then I guess is the dealer getting their paperwork back for the trade in which obviously isn't an issue for me.
