With the continuing demise of the road surface and the increase of potholes, I'm starting to feel a different bike for the commute would be a better idea than my road bike. With my birthday coming soon, I feel I deserve something nice and shiny after cycling through this stty weather. Needs to accept me 6'5" (112kg) mudguards & rack, and would prefer discs brakes to keep them out of most of the detritus.

The croix de fer is exactly what I was about to suggest: they're great bikes.

CdF is a classic bike for year round cycling in the UK.

Have my eye on a Ti bike with discs and carbon wheels.
