...Autocar is currently running three older cars on its long term fleet, a 911 turbo, 728i and an Lancia Delta? I would imagine it must be quite frustrating if your a motoring journo' having to file copy, when the only thing you have to write about is an intermittent rattle from the parcel of some anodyne Korean hatch. Looking forward to see how the Delta and Porsche fair though!
Anybody else remember CARweek, back in the early '90s? Weekly spin-off from CAR, aimed at the then-new AutoExpress.
On their long-term test fleet, they had a then 10yo Citroen CX, so that they could have a ready supply of woeful breakdown tales which "proved" that new cars were better. Which I bought off 'em... Turned out it hadn't been great at demonstrating that. They'd had to fib gently on a couple of occasions to make it fit the demands.
The journo who kept it was head of UK PR for a big-name high-volume car manufacturer until recently.
