Having recently received my insurance renewal from Manning for my Chim 500 I enquired about their comp breakdown cover for this years jaunt to the LM Classic. Interestingly they don't offer the breakdown cover for cars 17 years old.

Apparently its stuck between classic policies over 20 years of age and pre-classics upto 17 years of age.

Having previously had a mechanical issue in France on a Bank Holiday Sunday - its not something i consider optional.

Question is who are you folks of older Chims & Griffs & pre 90's TVR's using for Euro jaunts and what sort of premiums are you paying?

Mark.

Both are mine are insured with Adrain Flux and I pay a small premium for the full euro cover. They never bat an eyelid at the age of them either.
Maybe they do stand alone policies as you already have motor insurance.

I'm thinking about taking out a policy with ADAC.

It covers both myself and my wife in any car we are driving and is cheaper than the wife's AA cover.

I have insurance with MSM and they offer European Breakdown cover as well, no age limit on the car. Had it when I did the Le Mans Classic in 2012, although I didn't have to use it.
