flat battery how do i open boot

my 996 has a flat battery and i cant open the engine or front comprtment how do i either start it or get power to open battery or engine compartment

Can you power up the car using a battery charger that works thru the cigar lighter? As long as this doesn't damage the 996 it should provide power enuf to open the boot etc...I have a trickle charger that I used to retain the memory for security devices, when the battery is disconected. It works on a 993 ...but I don't know about a posh car like a 996!

inside drivers footwell on the right is the fuse compartment, inside this there is a connection for a 12volt charger or slave battery which once connected will allow the bonnet to be opened gaining access to the battery!!
