Conversations like this are taking place in dealerships all over the country every day. To brighten up our roads I propose that any cars painted in grey, black, silver or white attract triple road tax with a minimum cost of £2000/yr. Any sports cars painted in a boring car are automatically seized and crushed. Cars in bright colours get to use the roads for free.

the problem is bright coloured cars especially red are more noticeable by plodThoughts?
to keep under the radar you have to look like all the other sheep

I was going to say it seems BMW and Mercedes seem to be the most boring for this. the latest BMW colour chart for the 5 series.
I would love a imola red e46 or e60. I also think 80% on mercedes on the road seem to be in silver??
Very few big cars look good in bright colours, Audi still offer red in their range as well as BMW and Audi doing individual which is any colour you want.
BMW did offer the 5 series in red too, it looks really good on the e60, there was one on top gear, it's only this generation of standard saloons thst are all white or black I fhink

Owned a yellow car once and spent most of the time either coverd in greenfly or other insects literally thousands of them, if it wasn't that it was in the bodyshop after being crashed into again eventually it was 15 shades of yellow,
I've had 3 red cars they all go pink or white unless you polish them twice a week , I did valeting for 6 years was plenty enough to make me never ever ever want a flat red car again, so I can see the attraction of grey it works for me

You know why the bright colours are missing? Because no-one bought them. Supply and demand.
At some point one of the manufacturers will try them again and if they are popular then they will spread and be more widely available.

Really? I've had a few and they've all stayed bright, vibrant and lovely (1982 Fiesta, 2001 MR2, 2000 SLK) with just routine waxing.My current (silver - yaaaawn!) SLK is due back in May and I'm getting a bright red one, they look great.
