A question for any Cobra owners [whatever make].
When your using them on the road, as we have a somewhat un-predictable climate what do you do when out on a sunny day and its starts pissing it down?
I like the hardtop look on some of them, but obviously this is something when you leave home needs to be on or off. What are the fabric hoods like? or do you just get wet!

I did a fair few miles in less than ideal weather when I had one. Carried the soft top in the boot on anything but short trips on nice days. It was a bit of a faff, particularly with zip-in soft side windows but was pretty weather proof. I too quite liked the look of a hard top, but share your view on the practicality question.
I'd think a decent quality hood with rigid sidescreens wouldn't be too dreadful.

Many dont bother and claim they dont get wet but personally i wouldnt want to drive without the roof on in heavy rain.
They do spoil the look of the car and some are awkward to fit, mine lives on the car as it folds down on a frame but its not a pleasant experience driving with it up!
I do not have the side windows fitted so when it does rain some does come in but its not too bad on the move.

years ago i caught out in the rain in mine so i know where you are coming from, i just got bloody drenched and the missus got wet knickers! Now i only use mine for short distances and it has a soft top that lives in the boot, but if its just a short shower i wouldn't bother putting it up, its much more fun getting the missus wet knicker off once home!

Surely giving ladies wet knickers is why guys buy/build/design cars like Cobras!?However misguided this is...
On the train to Thunder Road Cars to collect my Dax from servicing, down came the rain.. 
By the time I arrived and had a chat with Cheng, the sun was out ! We quickly brought the car out, and I had a blissful burble home through the lanes. SO close ! But in eight years, never been caught in the wet yet ! If you are going to use the car a lot; get a hardtop !

I've been caught in rain a few times ranging from a light shower (quite refreshing) to a full on downpour (glad I put drain holes in the floor). I haven't bothered with a roof and just keep a mac rolled up in the door pocket and an umbrella to deploy at traffic lights. Carpets velcro in and can be removed. I don't purposely go out when its raining but if I get caught out its not too bad but then I'm used to all weathers on the bike
I've also driven mine a couple of times when its frosty which is ok you just have to take it steady. When I built it I used a tiny heater, just enough to get through IVA and on several cold mornings I've had to rub the ice of the inside of the screen whilst driving along as its not man enough.

Used it only once on a journey back from Le Mans - most times just brave it if it rains.
TBH the bulk goes over the top of the screen but where I used to get wet in my AK (and my mates Ram) was water creeping round the base of the screen and along the leading edge of the door which if I didn't know better appears almost purpose designed to direct a constant drip at your leg! Not pleasant but it's a cobra for godsakes - man up, lol!
Tonneau, golf umbrella and emergency pack-a-mac - that's all you need.
