Holiday lettings company wants the holiday balance (£1690) in Euros on 12th June 2014.

They've calculated that at Eu2056

should I buy the Euros now, or in three months, (banking on the GBP-EUR rate strengthening past 1.21 IMHO?)

Question2: where should I convert Eu2000 ?

Don't get me started on them quoting a price in pounds, then converting it themselves adhoc to Euros at an arbitrary time and rate. If the Euro weakens, it's me laughing.

anyhow, ta in advance

Cant you pay the balance now? Assume they would want payment by card (or similar) rather than a bag of cash?

Not a bad exchange rate TBH. £1690 would be €2054 with the guys I use.

As to when you do it. If I knew that I would be betting against currency.

If they take credit card then you could apply for a Halifax Clarity (takes a week or so to arrive) then you get the interbank exchange rate and no overseas loading on transactions.
