Advice please, fellow PHers. My lad and I fancy a crack at this drifting lark, but being on a tight household budget and with not too much time at the weekends, we dont want to go mad with the kit.

We really are looking at cheap as chips road legal bangers, so what can you suggest in the RWD dept?

We came up with Sierra, Granada, Starlet. And thats it! Ther must be more out there, ut remember we are looking at minimum outlay.

Cheers

Similar to the Sierra but how about the old favourite for RWD fun.............the Capri!!

Depends how cheap you want but £600 gets you a tatty XR4i these days, a Capri 2.8i can be had for this sort of money as well.

Why am I up at this time of day...........

The nissan SX200 (I think) is the cheap weapon of choice by those in the know.
Something you can wack the boost up on (for drifting) then reduce it for the road.

200sx in standard trim is fine, avoid boat like suspension versions though. Ford products can't handle the oil being sloshed about & go bang so bear that in mind as you'll need baffles.

3L Supras are ace, the old models are fine & cheap watch for head gasket jobs though. 2.8's with LSD are the dogs danglies IF you can get one.

2.8 Capri's........Old Skool Rocks!!

325 Sports with LSD are good, if no LSD just weld the diff up.

I find £100 Volvo 240's Estate have an amazing ability to get stupid angles of drift on & pull out of it

Alfa 75s can be had cheaply for this. Although they tend to stick a bit well being proper cars
