Assetto Corsa - which wheel?
Discussion
Hi guys,
Sorry if this has been covered, Pistonheads search not working for me at the moment. Just downloaded Assetto Corsa and loving it but trying to play using the keyboard is limiting the experience somewhat! Wondered what wheel/pedal sets you guys would recommend? Don't want to spend silly amounts so was looking at the Logitech G27 but wondered what your thoughts were.
Cheers
Graham

I'd be interested to know what the latest thoughts are, usually it's G27 but there are others around.
I currently use a Logitech Driving Force Pro, now superseded by the Driving Force GT. Mine is about 6 years old now and I think it's past it's best and is showing itself up with Assetto Corsa where better pedal and steering precision is required.
A Logitech Driving Force GT would be a good start though.

Fanatec prices are outrageous with poor reliability too. T500 gets lot's of praise these days, still not cheap though. I've been using a G27 for two and a half years without a single problem. It's not the most refined wheel but it's the best value, includes everything you need to get started (shifter and pedals) and just plain works.
I've got a Fanatec CSW and I absolutely love it. I've had just about every other regular wheel (except a 'Frex or ECCI), and nothing comes close.
Reliability doesn't seem so bad though, but I have had to have a FFB motor replaced - they turned it around in 6 days though, which I didn't think was too bad.
That said I'm still bloody slow.

I have a fanatec CSR and really like it, when i did have an issue (16 months after I bought it) they were happy to send a replacement and I think I had the new one less than a week after sending in my old one.Reliability doesn't seem so bad though, but I have had to have a FFB motor replaced - they turned it around in 6 days though, which I didn't think was too bad.

I mainly bought it as I was playing a lot of Forsa 4 and fancied the upgrade from the MS wheel. One of several reasons I recently built a PC was because the new xbox doesn't support the fanatec wheels, one of the others being Assetto Corsa. Only 8 hours in and it is a massive step up from the Forsa series but great fun.

old topic i know - but is there a cheaper option which is half decent?
G27 looks to be £150. I dont want to spend that much on my 10yr old daughter.
I still use one of these - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Driving-Force-Pro-Wheel-PS...G27 looks to be £150. I dont want to spend that much on my 10yr old daughter.
If you can find one, Ebay, or other.
