4WD, 4 door hatchback?

SWMBO is after a nearly new car. I'll use it as an occasional plaything so it must have some guts.

Only things I can think of are the S3 and Golf 4Motion. Is there anything else out there worthy of consideration?

She'd probably have a RRS if there was enough space on the drive. We do live in Essex after all.

Bet she couldn't park it though. It's got to be a 4 door hatchback or similar.

Just found out she has a company fuel card for business and personal use, which is a bonus.

Quite partial to an S3 personally. Exhaust and remap wouldn't do it any harm but Audi is the badge to avoid these days if you give a toss about that sort of thing, isn't it?

Thing I don't like about a lease is there's nothing to show for it at the end. Wouldn't mind a new Golf R though. Food for thought.

TBH a front wheel drive car on winter or rainsport tyres would be a far better choice - and cheaper to run too. And I say that as an current and previous owner of 4WD cars and off-roaders. Our old sportka commuter on winter tyres (as is our current focus) was way way better in the snow than my Evo - which wants to swap ends with very little provocation.

My Subaru on Wintrac Xtreme tyres was very good in all conditions, much better than my Toyota on Wintrac Xtremes.

Budget is undecided at the moment. Less than 20k probably though as it's me narrowing down the options.

4WD primarily to get her through the next winter in one piece.
