So, every now and again I get this weird sensation / feeling where:

1) I feel like I need to do everything a break neck pace, sort of running instead of walking, but for everything.
2) Whilst the above is a very conscious feeling, I don't have a conscious feeling of slowing everything down deliberately, if anything it is an awareness that even though I feel like I feel the need to do everything fast, I am not. Which sounds ridiculous against the first line, but that is what it feels like to me.
3) It feels like running around waving my arms, screaming and shouting would help
4) Always accompanied by butterflies in the stomach type feeling.
5) It only ever happens when I am busy doing something, such as tonight, putting the weekly shop away

Probably only happens once every few months, but it is quite odd.

Has anybody ever felt, read, heard of such a thing or I am just, as I have long suspected, nuts...

hehe

I don't think it is too much coffee, 3/4 cups a day, just one sugar, and I very rarely drink energy drinks.

The anxiety / panic attack angle is interesting, and it is not something I would have thought of because it feels nothing like I would have expected either of those to feel like, it also ties up with something else which I won't go into details about.

I once had an anxiety attack which came out of the blue. Never had anything like it before or since really.

I woke up one morning feeling like I needed to stretch, and stretch. Nothing I did seemed to aloviate it. I felt a bit wired. I couldn't stop clinching my hands tight then releasing them to get a stretch.

After a day of feeling very odd and a slightly raised heart rate I booked in with my gp thinking I was ill or something. He immediately diagnosed anxiety. Asked me if I was worried about anything which I wasn't really. Quite happy etc. only thing I could think of is that is was September 11th 2002. I had no connection with the event of the year before, didn't know anyone involved but was quite moved by it as a lot of people were. There was speculation of an attack on the anniversary and I was a result I was checking the news all day. I certainly didn't feel worried about it but gp said I was suffering a form of post traumatic stress and resulted in an anxiety attack.

He prescribed beta blockers which worked almost immediately. Never had anything since.

Hmm, this is all very interesting. I did think about whether it was worth posting this up, or whether it was just in my mind and I was going nuts. The response is much better and more helpful than expected. Thanks peeps.

I think a chat with the GP is in order next time I am in there.
