E92 M3 Steering Wheel wear
Discussion
I'm thinking about purchasing a 2008 E92 DCT M3 which is at a local Indi dealership. It's got 50k miles on it and from a quick look over this evening it seems to be in very good condition, I'm going back at the weekend for a more detailed viewing and a test drive. The one thing that stood out and set my alarm bells ringing is that it has a pretty badly worn steering wheel, esp at the quarter to three positions, with the wear not really being consistent with the rest of the interior. It may be due to the way the paddles are used, but it seems odd. Also, some of the more shiny material near the buttons on the wheel seems to have worn away a bit. I had a new 325i back when the E90 was released and put 100k miles on it without the wheel showing much age. Anyone know if they are prone to wear in this way? Just concerned that it may have been clocked.

I am not sure it makes much difference to be honest as my 8 year old 330i doesn't have any wear on the steering wheel but my bro in law has a 2008 320d that he hardly uses & has only done 20k miles & the steering wheel has worn really badly.
When I sold my old E92 M3 with 44k miles on it that didn't have any wear on the steering wheel but the drivers seat side bolster looked like it had done 150k miles so I think it can be hard to judge.
