Hi all,

I'm considering purchasing a 1976 Mk 2 Escort, but it's fairly heavily modified for track day use (although still fully road legal): Honda S2000 engine, roll cage, upgraded suspension and brakes etc. I'm looking in the first instance for normal road insurance (ideally with track day cover as well, or as an option, but not essential). Classic insurance wise, I've tried both Hagerty and Heritage, and both said "no chance". I guess therefore I should be looking at specialist (non-classic) insurers who do modified cars? Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

(I'll be doing 3k miles max and the car is garaged, if that makes a difference.)

Thanks in advance,
Andy

RH insure me and were happy with my modifications, suspension, interior, power output (after bumping the premium up a bit).

Try Lockton insurance too, they're the PCGB insurance partner and are happy to do modified cover.

Thanks all, I went with Adrian Flux in the end, best combination of price, features and reputation.

(Battling with their horrible web based forms submission though frown )
