Just about to buy a new (well new to me anyway ) car but it's in a bit of a boring colour, so I thought I'd liven it up by putting some stripes on. As I'm British and the car's French, I thought it might serve the best of both worlds if I used 50mm wide red, white and blue longitudinal stripes.

So here's the question; is there any sort of convention as to whether the red goes on the left, or the right?

Sorry! I meant to say on the left-hand side of the car, or the right. So looking from the back really.

(I suppose the more politically aware among us would insist that the red was on the left and the blue on the right.)

All depends as to 'which side do you dress Sir?'

The only convention I can think of is the RAF roundall, if you open that up blue is on top of white then red

That's funny, I've always thought of it the other way round, red on top of white then blue!

Anyway, I probably won't be buying that car now, I'm looking at another today in a much better colour, silver I ask you. Far too many of those already - last time I had a silver car I was forever losing it in car parks.
