Having owned a 05 convertible, The non-petrolhead Mrs rix apparently can't get too excited about anything other than a MINI as her future car. We've looked at Golfs, Foci, and all the usual stuff but I think only a mini is going to do. If I can convince her we need an S then it's not tooooo much of a girls car and should actually be a damn good (and quick) drive! The reviews from the launch are pretty good, and I like the styling, even the S!

Anyone have any info as to when they'll appear in showrooms and what the likely lead time is looking like!

Anyone else got an order in undriven?

Cars are available to order now, currently with about 4 months lead time. In showrooms from the 15th of March.
Having had a sneak preview this week I'd have no hesitation ordering one without driving. The highlight for me is the interior design and refinement which is a huge leap forward from the current model; which is still fresh to my eyes.
The car is also better looking in the flesh than in photos

There are a few of us with cars on order to collect around launch ! For both Coopers and S no one I know of yet has ordered a Cooper D.

I cant wait to get behind the wheel of mine. I had a few issues with current car (Dealer problems not car) so that's why I ordered one with out seeing it in metal but having had 2 MINI's before I was confident in it. (ordered in early December)

The press reviews have all been positive what's good.

My mum placed her order for a new Cooper before Xmas and hers is due on launch day. Fully loaded and orange with a black roof.

She's never driven the new Mini, she's nervous but excited.

She's 80 this year - Mini.....has no age barrier wink

Hi, see you work for MINI - what's the position regarding drivetrain relaibility of the F56 given the diesel death rattle, timing & carbon issues with the R56 Pug motor? has the 'new' 1.5 been used in BMWs i8 as people are saying ?

Wasn't the 'death rattle' seen to with the N18 engine?

Not sure what the N18 is - can you elaborate ?

the R56 Cooper S's had the death rattle & Coopers had variator issues which made them rattle too ...

One guy to my knowledge had had cam chain issues on his n18 engine.
It does not seem as wide spread an issue compared to the N14 which still fails even after component change
fking horrid engine and mini are not helping by washing their hands of it here in the uk, living in America helps as after a few lawsuits mini are carrying out enhancement programs to change out excessively worn chains and tensioners, and cover high pressure fuel pumps for an extra 10 year's or 100k, BMW quality and customer care. ? I don't think so.

The 184BHP updated engine in mid 2010. My MCS has this one, so hoping all is well.

So far so good, but will definitely keep up the MINI warranty.
