So after soooooo many posts about DO NOT DRIVE THE V12VS..... unless you want to completely ruin your life... What did I do... I was invited for a ride and drive at Derby AM and they put me in this for an hour

It had the lightweight seats, the black pack which had the black "lipstick" when I saw the n430 I hated the yellow lipstick but black on this one seemed to work with the carbon grille! dark wheels looked awesome too.

Anyhoo... OH MY GOD...... amazing... loved the paddles once I got the hang of them - I always thought my Aston would have to be a manual but after an hour with Paul from the factory/PDC coach guy showing me all the features and letting me play.. showing me how to use the paddles properly I really enjoyed the drive - nice to have the full auto option.. and the F1 changes... HOLLY CRAP!

I love My V8V I really do.. but hmmmmm

Now - how do you start the conversation with the loved one..
A) You know I love you...well how about a change?.. errrmmm or
B) I'm seeing someone else I'm sorry she was just too damn hot...

THEN after that conversation with my V8V how do I tell my partner :-)

Playing with a dealer's demonstrator next week while mine is in for some work.... please don't let it come to this! I have only just met my other half... Looking forward to trying the paddles though...

hehe

I feel your pain, apart from the telling of the Mrs bit.

I just went from 4.3 V8 manual to V12V and thought I was betraying my childhood sweetheart for her filthy older sister. Now I've used it more it's all falling in to place, filthy is goooood biggrin.

Just go and buy it smashsmile.

Get one the same colour as your V8V, she wont notice.

Get it bought. You know it makes sense. If you do go for the black pack (roof and boot) you'll need them machine polished.

I saw that car last week and I wasn't as weak as you and have resisted a drive in it.
It looks a properly specced car in a good colour too.
Did you see the Teal colour Vantage in the showroom very nice another none traditional Aston colour.

So how did you think the test drive would go? Driving a car thats better in every measurable way.

And the stupid award goes to myself for filling a cold dry sump engine until it registered on the dip stick. It was a few years ago mind……

Having tried to keep up with ShropshireAston I hate to think how quickly he'll be doing the speed limit in the future if he does buy one!

That particular car does look gorgeous. Lucky they don't do a manual, cause that saves me from temptation - but I wouldn't mind a go.

How much I like that car I don't think it's aimed at the 50+ Yr market. There's the DB9 for that I guess.
Just my take on it. Still want to try it though.

Interesting, I think the lipstick works much better without the carbon fibre part of the grill painted body colour. Still, think mine looks better ;-)

As part of the 50-plus brigade I love my V12V. When the time comes for a colostomy bag I'll consider a DB9, or more likely a DBS. I don't think Aston models are age dependent.

thanks for the advice :-)

Filthy is good... buy it buy it buy it...
I did think about the same colour would confuse (it worked when I changed from A4 - A6... ) :-)

As for Teal- Funny you should mentioned that when I got home I jumped on the configurator i thought it looked ace in Teal.. unusual colour and stunning in the metal!

@Jon- nicely worded.. yes we did seem to get to the national speed limit very quickly but funny we never went over it at any point in our spirited drive :-)

@JBaps.... YOU bd... NICE! and your car looks stunning.. definately looks better colour coded and no lippy :-).. I think its one of those things I don't dislike it but not sure I would have it!
OH and damn nice reg plate too matey :-)

Yes, you succumbed to temptation, and it will ruin your life until you take the plunge! You drove it well, and thank you for getting the word out. This car is awesome, and it would be too much for most mortals as a stick shift, so Sportshift 3 rules!!

James, have you taken leave of your senses? You will be in soooo much trouble if you drive that......I've avoided every temptation to drive a V12V, although Nick was kind enough to allow me to drive the DBS......that resulted in a very frosty wife for a few hours!

You're forgetting the bonnet vents mad My wife doesn't like them at all so I would have to camouflage them with black or dark grey which would give the game away slightly as my V8V is California Sage.
