Question about the carbon canister which normally is in the front wing:

Does anybody know which way round the pipes connect into the canister please?

There is an upper and lower connection. Which one connects to the plenum line and which to the fuel tank vent line? Also there is an electrical connector on it. Should this be connected and have power to work the valve?

Many thanks
Alex

Yes the electrical connector operates the valve to vent the cannister.

Is yours the version with the valve clipped on to the cannister (IIRC round canister has valve separate from the cannister, oval canister has valve clipped on top). I can send you a pic of the integral version from my Discovery if you want.

Many thanks for your reply.

Ok I will have to sort out the wiring to get the electrical supply to the valve. Thats a job for next weekend.

Now the pipe connections, mine is a round one with the valve clipped on the top. should the valve be connected to the vent off the tank or to the engine?

Tank to can, valve to plenum.
