cayman s gen 1 or meganesport rs 250 cup

Bought a 2006 caymans 4 months ago, lovely car, all standard, fsh, mint but having second thoughts as the car has a heavy cluth, horrible in town, was going to do odd track day but unsure if it will spoil the car, drove a meganesport rs 250 cup and much more comfortable and still under manufacturers warranty, did,nt feel special like porsche but felt much easier to drive, would this be better for track days (less risk of expensive failure) garage offered me a straight swop (I have 44k miles on cayman against 29k on 11 plate rs) should I swop ? dont use the cayman every day for work only once/twice a week, or should I look for focus st, fiesta st ??

IMHO the best car for a track day is one that will not bankrupt you if you had an accident or that the wear and tear costs are prohibitively expensive. So with that said, my best track cars have been a VX220 and MX5.

I wonder if Porsche ever thought their cars would one day be compared to Renaults?

Is it worth driving a car which 90% of the time doesn't suit your needs just because it so good at the other 10%?
Almost any modern car will be good fun on a track.

Renault are st. Please don't compare to Porsche. Carry lots of gaffer tape to keep putting the Renault back together you will be fine.

Depends if your worried about depreciation? The cayman will hold its value (much) better than the renault.

Had 2, both fell apart. Clio 172 cup and a 58 plate Laguna. Shocking build quality IMO anyway.

To be fair the Renault does seem to go well on track, however as said track is better in light weight stuff that doesn't eat tyres and brakes. Keep the Porsche get a Civic type R as a second cheapo track car / van.

Not exactly fair to compare a 16 year old Clio design and a 7 year old design Laguna to the latest 250 / 265 Megane is it?
