I'll have a look. The thing is, there a few people in particular who have a hair trigger finger when it comes to reporting things with not always a lot of consideration for the big picture.
Dave, if you email Garlick he may well give you the nod but the site does have to be careful to not be seen to be one rule for one type of thing

I've checked Dave and you were mailed. To be honest, the post fly straight in the face of the forum rules regarding not advertising events, especially as you included all the entry price info.
Try emailing garlic and asking if there is a way that it would be more acceptable, maybe not so much detail?

Dave. I had a thread pulled a year or so back too, same thing just trying to attract PH's into some evening motor sport, I emailed Garlic who wouldn't budge.
The other Ilkley thread seems to have survived though, I don't know why.
Perhaps the Mini Miglia one is OK because it wasn't started by one of the organisors.
I'm with you on this entirely though, I don't see why it should be a problem......
Oh and were you doing a Nav Scat or a Nag Scat?, is the latter done on a Horse?, could be a new sport you've invented there.

I was vexed when I typed it so wasn't checking spelling. I suppose I better read the rules. I thought they were ref business advertising. I didn't know that you were not supposed to mention nav scats, particularly ones on the 19th March; so I won't do it again.
And if anyone has a horse, I'm sure they'd be welcome.

completely agree , strange how the Yorkshire thread has now gone quiet..

If we lived in a lovey desirable property in the upmarket village of Horbury then maybe things would be different?

You would be astounded at how many reports (from the forum members) we get. A lot of things may well lie quietly below the radar, but if there are over eager members that jump up and report everything that even nudges the boundaries, then attention is drawn and the rules need to be seen to be abided by.May I ask how many of these hypocritical moderators you actually know?
I don't know. I didn't see it I'm afraid. The rules were set up to stop commercial events advertising. Unfortunately, as part of that, you have to operate a one rule for all.
Some events are cleared usually as the organiser has been in touch with Garlick and it has been passed. Others are simply; "Is anyone going to XYZ open day?", so is not direct promotion. Yes, there are grey areas, but we potter along doing the best we can :-)

Emailed garlic the same day as I started this thread. I was very apologetic, said I didn't realise the rules banned competition advertising, explained that it is a clubman event, not for profit, would benefit members as an intro to club level motorsport, even flowered it up a bit by saying we'd met when I had some cars at the first Ph show at the NEC. Asked for permission to post it.
