'Cleaned and waxed weekly'

I ignore those lines. A car does not need to be cleaned and waxed 52 times a year.that in itself wont stop an owner doing it but they need to get a life if thats all they have time for.
im obsessive and a bit anal about my car cleaning regime but even im not daft enough to be out there waxing it (let alone cleaning it) every week in the middle of winter......

i clean it weekly, except in snow, ice freezing conditions
i clean it in the rain, just wont buff it up
waxing happens 3 or 4 times a year
wheels off twice a year
engine twice a year
ineer wings and door shuts etc weekly as per normal cleaning
anal yes
but I find cleaning my car relaxing and helps me forget about the week of work just gone

I also find it therapeutic but you'd never think so looking at my car. If I spent even a fraction of my time cleaning the cars as I'd like, Mrs Pints would be acquiring the services of a divorce lawyer.i clean it in the rain, just wont buff it up

I clean my car every week, when it is used. I wax about every six and detail the inside every wash. It does keep a car in decent condition, doesn't take too long so long as you know what you are doing and does add value when it is time to sell.
I give my car a 5 minute hoover after every big trip out or once a week. When I vac my mums car which I might see every 6-8 weeks it takes me 2-4 hours just to get the inside to an acceptable (admittedly OCD) standard.When you say 'wax' do you mean polish? I clean both my everyday cars at least once a fortnight, my Westfield never gets dirty so just gets a wipe down with detailer's spray after every blat! I rarely 'wax' my two every day cars although I polish (Autoglym SRP) them a couple of times year.

Broadly speaking, a polish increases the shine i.e. a fine cut into the paint. A wax preserves the paint by adding a protective layer.A polish every week would leave paint thin if that were the case.

I used to love cleaning cars.....then I grew up.
Not meant as an insult, but as a teenager I was all over my Dad's car every week = for no reward. He got a reputation at work for being an obsessive car cleaner but he never lifted a finger on it. When cars were part exhanged dealers woudl often comment on how clean they were. This was the days when Autoglym first came out but before clay and expensive wax. I'd have had that if I had known about it.
I made some pocket money doing neighbours cars. It would take all day and they would gleam. Our road had the cleanest cars in the area and I would end up making a decent bit of dosh doing it.
Now my cars get cleaned by my only on nice summer days. I am ashamed to say that it is either the local hand wash or nothing in the mean time. The state of the engine bay in my 9000 mile Landy is shocking.
I just don't like getting cold and wet these days.
Having said that, I have most of the cleaning stuff and keep it at my home in Scotland. Nothing better on a hot day - the house is above a beach and a mecca for fast jets - helcopters etc. A day in the sun, getting into the zone, thinking of not much at all getting buzzed by the odd Hawk or Typhoon.

Same here. In my twenties I'd clean my car inside and out every week regardless. Now I'd rather get out on my bike, do some lego with my son or do puzzles with my daughter.
I still keep the interior clean but trying to keep the exterior clean in rural Wiltshire at this time of year is an exercise in futility.
