You said it- "Ford single choke carb" they can't argue with that.

If it is a 1V carb then yes it is a single venturi type and if it is a VV carb then it is again a single venturi type carb so as already said the answer is yes the carb is a single venturi type.

What else are the insurance company asking for?? Your inside leg measurement. lol

I guess they are just checking to see if it has been modded so they can either bump the price up or say "Sorry we can't help you"

I have got most of the data on the Ford carbs from 1978 to 1991 but the basics the insurance need to know are as above.

At the beginning of the week I contacted the 3 main Insurance companies on the club list.

I have 24 years claim/conviction free motoring and declared the 1.7 x-flow fitted

1 - Left me on hold for 20 minutes then wouldnt insure me full stop.

2 - Left me hanging also , I got fed up and went online Monday night , Quote posted to me Friday but wanted over twice what No. 3 wanted who had replied 2 days earlier to my email request!

3 - Great Service and the same price they quoted me 3 months ago , they have my business now.

I wont name and shame but I thought they would all be falling over themselves to get the business!

The Winner is .......Adrian Flux.

They were very helpful and my documents arrived the next day as promised , it cost me £136 Fully Comp for 6000 miles £140 cheaper than elsewhere ...which helped smooth it with the missus!

Hmmm- not bad. I have a similar record and engine and pay less than that but with a 1500 mile limit. That's with Footman James who also insure most(!) of my other cars.
