no such thing as current market price, esp if the cars had 10k worth of refresh on it.
people buy on price and forget they are 10 years old !
you see cars at 36k which could do with 10k spent even though the owners say "no it don't"
or you could buy a 42k car with every thing done, but that's classed over market value !
but buying the 42k car saves you 4k in real money.

I don't normally have any issue with you but Christ on a bike why when there is the merest mention of a GT3 do you have to jump in with the same old tired post about 10k refreshes and such, you've said it a thousand times and it's boring now.people buy on price and forget they are 10 years old !

I know you had a GT3 briefly and didn't get on with it and sold it, but that's no reason to slag them off as you do in your other most common post, I mean do you have them ready to copy and paste?
Why don't you keep to the Cayman and Boxster posts where you can at least say something positive.
And breathe , rant over and no hard feelings and the Cayman R is a great car as well.

My car is on at 36k and has had everything sorted.
Brand new OEM suspension, new clutch, new RS diff, new brakes/hoses and wants for nothing so although its not a CS, cars exist. Dealers just put a big mark up on at £42k.
Personally think Polar Silver looks stunning, lot nicer than Artic Silver in the flesh.
Know what i'd do if i was buying a GT3.
Condition/History/work carried out are far more important than colour everyday of the week. I know of a Polar Silver GT3 sold recently for around 42k if i'm not mistaken and Crimps is stunning looking subtle yet very aggressive and he has priced it very well.

Two people could buy two identical GT3s, one spends £5k+ on various refreshes whilst the other does diddly squat.
When both offer their cars to the market at the same time (say 12 months later) with a £3k price differential, many tyre kickers will try to tell the more expensive owner that their car is overpriced and they think the market price is Mr Cheapie who did nought.
I realise there is a balance here - ie you cannot expect to get your full £5k back...but some recognition is appropriate. I suspect MrD got lots of the tyre kicker types when he tried to sell and/or tried to make a strong case for the £10k(?) additional investment.
